The men's national team of Ukraine obtained a convincing victory 79:66 over Georgia in the home selection game for the 2023 World Cup, that took place in Riga.

The beginning of the meeting both teams seemed equal, but in the middle of the first quarter, the Georgians managed to create an advantage of 6 points. However, the situation changed when the new player of "Prometey" Issuf Sanon came to the court and with his active actions, which allowed our national team to level the score. In total, Sanon scored 8 points for the game. He also has 4 assists. Ivan Tkachenko, another "Prometey" rookie, added 9 points and 5 rebounds to the basket of the national team. It was Ivan who had the best moment of the match - a top dunk. Viacheslav Petrov recorded 3 points and 2 block shots in the national team's assets. Illia Sydorov has 4 points.

Ainars Bagatskis' team won their second victory in the qualification for the 2023 World Cup and almost guaranteed themselves a place in the second round of selection, but what is more importantly, they won the head-to-head advantage over Georgia.

The next game of the national team of Ukraine will be held on July 4 in Skopje against the national team of North Macedonia.
